SDR Ventures Advises Norcast Telecom Networks on Acquisition by Digital West
SDR Ventures is pleased to announce that Norcast Telecom Networks (“Norcast”) has been acquired by Digital West Networks, Inc. (“Digital West”). The deal was finalized in December of 2017. SDR served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Norcast throughout the transaction process.
Norcast Telecom Networks, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) based in San Luis Obispo, California, developed a substantial foothold and customer base in the California Central Coast over the past 18 years. As a provider of voice and data services to businesses throughout the region, Norcast established itself as the area’s premier telecommunications provider through its exceptional product offerings and dedication to customer service.
“SDR Ventures led an excellent transaction process and was able to highlight our strong product offerings and customer service record as primary selling points,” remarked Norcast’s former CEO, Michael Gayaldo. “The experience working with the SDR team and their persistence throughout the process made all the difference.”
Regarding Digital West, Gayaldo stated, “Our two companies have worked closely for more than 10 years; in fact, we work with many of the same customers. It was a natural evolution for us to come together.”
Digital West, also based in San Luis Obispo, provides fiber optic connectivity, colocation, cloud services, digital business applications and telephony to commercial clients, including carriers, small businesses and medium-to-large enterprises with custom infrastructure needs.
Digital West announced in a press release, “The blending of Digital West and Norcast into one company creates the single largest business infrastructure provider in the [California] Central Coast region, with approximately 60 employees and more than 2,500 customers.” For existing Norcast or Digital West customers, the transaction will “provide businesses the opportunity to be completely ‘on net,’ giving them a much higher quality network experience than if they were working with multiple providers.”
