SDR Ventures Advises Van’s Equipment on Acquisition by Sunbelt Rentals
SDR Ventures is happy to announce that Van’s Equipment Company (“Van’s Equipment” or “Van’s”) has been acquired by Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. (“Sunbelt”), the U.S. construction and industrial equipment rental subsidiary of Ashtead Group, plc. SDR served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Van’s Equipment.
Comprised of two Colorado-based locations, Van’s Equipment grew steadily over the past several years to become one of the top construction equipment rental companies in the Denver Metro Area and Northern Colorado. Van’s was established in 2008, and has been focused on maintaining an exceptional rental fleet. Van’s is ISO Certified and is aligned with a variety of brands, including Hyundai, Yanmar and Genie.
“We’re proud of the quality of equipment and service we’ve been able to provide to Colorado contractors, especially during this period of rapid growth in the region,” said Van’s President Kevin Moore. “The SDR team’s relationships with strategic buyers and a wide range of private equity groups helped create a strong process that led to a successful close with Sunbelt.”
Sunbelt Rentals has an extensive fleet that exceeds $6.0 billion and includes general construction equipment, industrial tools, pumps & power generation equipment, scaffolding, remediation & restoration equipment and more. This transaction will help Sunbelt expand its Rocky Mountain presence.
“It was a pleasure to work with Kevin Moore and his management team on this transaction,” said SDR Principal Chris Bouck. “Due to Van’s growth and strong market position, we were able to present the company as a very compelling investment to a wide range of potential buyers. But at the end of the day, Sunbelt was the ideal fit. The Van’s team made a great decision, and we’re excited for Kevin, Van’s management and employees and Sunbelt going forward.”
