SDR Ventures Advises CyberTrails on Acquisition by NexusTek
SDR Ventures is pleased to announce that CyberTrails LLC (“CyberTrails”), a portfolio company of Republic Financial Corporation (“Republic Financial”), has been acquired by NexusTek, a portfolio company of Lightview Capital, LLC (“Lightview Capital”). SDR served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to CyberTrails throughout the transaction process.
CyberTrails, a Phoenix-based managed service provider (MSP), has developed into a leading provider of numerous managed IT services including a 24x7x365 help desk, backups and disaster recovery, network services, storage services, virtualization services, hosting, monitoring and patching as well as cyber security services including assessments, consulting, monitoring and support. CyberTrails also provides its clients with professional IT services and hardware sourcing and sales.
Denver-based Republic Financial helped transform CyberTrails’ business from an internet service provider (ISP) to a managed service provider (MSP) over the course of the last decade. Republic Financial and CyberTrails engaged SDR Ventures to achieve a sale and help realize CyberTrails’ growth in value. SDR provided a comprehensive sale process that ultimately identified NexusTek, a managed IT and consulting company located in Denver, as a great strategic fit.
“As it turns out, NexusTek’s headquarters is only about five minutes from Republic’s offices,” said Bob Possehl, President of Republic Financial. “While the proximity was a cool coincidence, we were most excited by the strategic fit between NexusTek and CyberTrails. I’m confident that the combined entity and management teams will continue delivering value to the employees, customers, management teams and shareholders.”
“While we’ve been happily serving the Phoenix area for over 20 years, NexusTek has been doing the same in Denver,” remarked CyberTrails President John Allen. “I’m excited that our services will now be able to reach more companies, and that our employees will be joining a growing entity that shares a similar culture and values to ours.”
“Our legacy of delivering excellence in IT services has expanded within the Western Region,” said Mike Jenner, CEO of NexusTek. “With the addition of CyberTrails, we have a natural complement to NexusTek’s culture, robust portfolio and customer-centric value set that will further our goal of regional expansion while delivering the highest quality of IT services to the SMB marketplace.”
“Managed service providers like CyberTrails and NexusTek are in growing demand, as numerous companies are realizing the efficiencies and increased level of security that can be gained by moving to the cloud,” said SDR’s Managing Director Travis Conway. “With strong teams and service offerings, both CyberTrails and NexusTek have been capitalizing on this need and helping businesses establish better IT structures. We were happy to apply our expertise in tech-related transactions to this deal and to bring these two companies together.”
