A recent ABF Journal Article points out that a majority of business owners plan to invest in their businesses this year, citing a BMO Harris Bank study. According to the study, more than 40 percent of business owners plan to upgrade or purchase new equipment, while more than a quarter expect to hire more employees in 2014.
This is yet another positive sign in a series of recent studies that show confidence among business owners in the first quarter of this year. This recent study also noted that 25 percent of owners plan to update technology and systems, and nearly a quarter of respondents also expect to expand operations this year.
More and more, business owners’ increasing confidence in the economy is driving expansion, spending and investment. This attitude among business owners is a positive sign for the continued economic recovery.
