According to a recent survey conducted by the Kauffman Foundation and LegalZoom, new businesses are feeling increasingly confident and are more interested in hiring new employees. The poll was taken during the 4th quarter of 2013 and showed improvement over the previous three months.
When business owners were asked if they felt confident in their company’s ability to be profitable over the next 12 months, 91% of respondents answered positively. That’s an increase of about 5% over the third quarter of 2013.
Furthermore, more startup owners indicated plans to hire additional employees. According to the survey, 43% have plans to hire, an improvement from 36% in the previous quarter.
Overall confidence in the economy appears to be strong going into 2014, a sentiment reflected in our own recent poll, and business confidence polls nationally.
