Qualifications

Tom Ryan joined SDR Ventures in 2016 as a Managing Director. Tom brings significant experience to SDR in the development and implementation of growth strategies, productivity initiatives and other optimization programs.

Experience

Before joining SDR Ventures, Tom spent two years as an independent consultant and interim executive focused on right-sizing cost structures, improving operations and developing teams in high growth, maintenance or turnaround environments for companies across the industrial manufacturing and consumer products industries. Prior to his consulting experience, Tom served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for PODS Moving and Storage for over five years. He also has experience in key leadership roles at: Johns Manville, a $2.4B Berkshire Hathaway Company and fiberglass manufacturer; Ingersoll Rand’s Climate Control Sector, a $3B division of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE: IR); and AlliedSignal’s (Now Honeywell NYSE: HON) Automotive Sector. Tom began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Tom has completed and led integration of $11B+ in acquisitive transactions over a 29-year-span. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Education

Tom earned an MBA from Wayne State University and has a BA from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.

Interests

Tom is from Michigan but has made his home in Denver since 2003. He spends much of his time with his wife and five sons. He is an avid golfer and also enjoys skiing, hiking and cooking.
